The World Health Organization defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” A report from Karolinska Institute (that awards the Nobel prizes), Sweden, has recently confirmed what we had all along suspected, that golf makes players healthier.
We all know that any form of well structured exercise improves physical well being. Golf is more than just a compelling exercise. It makes the player happy. You get praises and adoring bows from your foursome and others, for good shots and encouragement for bad ones. Where else, save golf, do you get sweet, deep, soft and genuine claps from co-players. You are trustingly allowed to announce your scores in golf! This enhances mental well-being. There is no known exercise that builds better social interaction and well-being than golf. Playing golf makes life worth living. It is not surprising, therefore, that golf enhances ones health. all round.
